What is the vestry?
The vestry plays a vital role in supporting the Rector in providing spiritual leadership for the church. They help ensure that Christ Church remains aligned with the vision and mission God has set before us. This is accomplished through meaningful discussions and strategic planning during monthly meetings, as well as through their daily interactions with the church community.

Additionally, the vestry oversees the church’s business affairs, often referred to as temporal affairs. While the church is a spiritual entity, it also functions similarly to other organizations in practical matters. Managing income and expenses, taxes, property maintenance, and budgeting are all essential responsibilities of the vestry.

Vestry members are elected at the annual meeting by the voting members of Christ Church. They are elected for 3 year terms. Vestry members must meet eligibility requirements stated in Christ Church by-laws before they can stand for election.
