Kindle a New fire this Easter!

The Great Vigil of Easter marks the final and most profound service of Holy Week. After the altar was stripped on Maundy Thursday and silence descended on Good Friday, Saturday finds the world shrouded in darkness and death. With the light of Christ sealed in the tomb, what hope remains?

Come and witness Jesus’ victory over death, and let your faith be renewed in the light of Christ.

The Great Vigil of Easter

The most beautiful night of the year happens on Saturday night of Easter. The Great Vigil is the first liturgy of Easter Day. It is celebrated at sunset and begins in darkness. Through the service you hear the story of God’s salvation proclaimed and you experience the transition of dark to light, death to life. It is also a time for the church to baptize and renew there baptismal vows. I invite you to join me in the dark and to kindle a new fire as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus!
